Refurbishment can also include an upgrade of the extruder. The performance of latest designs of twin screw extruder has increased dramatically over the past few years. More drive power and or higher screw speeds are just two of the differences, and some of these upgrades can be applied to your existing machines.
New barrel and screw designs can be retrofitted to your existing machines. Older single piece liners can be replaced with an up-to-date multi segment design, and slab type liners can be replaced by more versatile insert designs. These can be specified to offer better wear resistance. The insert design reduces maintenance and minimises the cost of future liner replacements.
With new developments in processing technology requiring more complex mixing and therefore increased residence times, there is a good chance that your refurbished machine would perform better with a longer barrel. We can provide you with an economic solution to extend your existing machine.
