Xtrutech have developed our new CIP feeder to reduce cleaning times for our customers. We have successfully achieved this by automating part of the cleaning process for our new feeder and hopper. The automated CIP system is suitable for all XTS production extruders.
What is CIP?
“Clean-in-place” is a method of automated cleaning used to maintain the interior surfaces of equipment without the need for disassembly.
The process begins by introducing compressed air, which is injected into the feeder along with resin chips. This acts to create a vortex within the hopper using the air, extraction system, and resin. As a result, the feeder is cleaned quickly and efficiently within 6 minutes.

The CIP feeder/hopper is available on XTS feeders with an option to fit K-Tron twin screw and single screw feeders.
